Fire Protection Supports

Description

This new range of fire protection supports is intended to keep electrical cables, conduits, trunking, etc, well away from the escape routes in buildings in the event of a fire, so that they do not drop down and obstruct escaping personnel or working fire officers. See separate data sheet.

ADVANTAGES

• Designed to hold cables in a variety of casings in place in a fire, preventing them from falling to the ground and becoming a hazard for firefighter
• Ideal for use in areas such as access routes, which may become hazardous should cables fall to the ground
• Easily installed; metal keyhole fixings at either end fix to the wall above and below the trunking, conduit or cables to be supported
• A smaller clip is available which folds around conduits or armoured cables with the keyhole fixings screwed in place above as support

FIRE TEST PERFORMANCE

Complies with the codes of practice BS 5839-1 and BS 7671.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

The FCSS clips are fixed in place at regular intervals along plastic trunking, tubing or armoured cables using the keyhole fixings provided. It is important to ensure clips are fitted where cables pass above doorways and other access routes to keep them clear in the event of a fire. The system allows easy access to the cables. Simply loosen the screws and open the clips for maintenance.
